About this deal

It’s a book focused on helping new puppy parents get the best of their puppies and is a collection of all of Steve Mann’s information, learnings and findings as a professional dog trainer. Is Easy Peasy Puppy Squeezy the Puppy Bible?

Steve Mann obviously knows his dogs and the training which goes along with owning a dog, I can't fault his knowledge, he explains everything in very lamen's terms so no matter whether this is your fifteenth dogs or your a first-time pup-parent you will find something of interest and gain new insight into your puppy's behaviour and how to get passed all their hurdles. I liked the tips on basic training and managing all those puppy tantrums and difficult behaviours, they didn't all work for me but we keep going and hoping one day (before my dog becomes an OAP) that he will get what I am trying to teach him. One can hope! Absolutely, I think this is the new essential must have puppy book. And I am only recommending because I have read it. It is written by Steve Mann, an ethical Force Free positive trainer..founder of IMDT. In his book “Easy Peasy Puppy Squeezy” reknowned dog trainer Steve Mann describes building positive associations with the vet. He suggests that with the vet’s permission, you take pup just inside the door, feed lots of treats, give lots of praise and then leave. Repeat several times until puppy looks forward to the experience. Then you can gradually increase the duration and distractions within each “visit”. Eg stay a bit longer, encourage the pup to have cuddles with the receptionist and get used to having the vet nurse touch ears and examine teeth. It also doesn’t really cover development. It very much hits the headlines and painpoints, but (in my opinion) that developmental part is really critical. Steve is brilliant ... my puppy-training prophet and spiritual guide. His approach makes perfect sense.' ― Adrian Chiles, The GuardianWhether you're living with a brand-new puppy, an adult dog or a rescue dog, my methods will give you everything you need to know. If you don't follow me on Facebook (and if not, why not?!) you may not have seen the news that we have put down a deposit on a puppy. We can't bring her home for another fortnight, but we are in love with her already.

Absolutely Amazing ❤️ it' and as always came away from another IMDT course hosted By Liz at PDT learning lots' and realising i need to work with puppies 😁 ❤️Thank you so much Steve' and the Amazing Tania Folks 😁 ❤️ your class Making your training bulletproof, so you’re safe in the knowledge that no matter the situation puppy will listen to you, is a case of varying the three d’s – distance, distraction and duration. Playing with these three elements will ensure that no matter the distance puppy has to travel, the intriguing distractions on offer and the duration puppy has to behave for, we’re still left with a safe and happy dog. This book will not just create good dogs but good owners. It is there to enhance your bond with your dog, to eliminate negative methods and show people the way. Bringing puppy along to classes ensures that he or she can meet dogs of all ages in a controlled and safe environment. It gives you, as an owner, a better insight into doggy body language and helps you to introduce your pup to other dogs while you are out and about. Plus, you will have a qualified trainer and behaviourist on hand to ask any questions about any aspect of your puppy’s behaviour that is confusing or frustrating you. A good deal of what follows is centred around bribery (treats) and repetition. In truth, most of what it is common sense but nonetheless I found it helpful to see it spelt out. It’s too early to tell whether the wisdom we’ve absorbed will make a significant difference to our journey, but my senses say it will certainly help.Steve Mann, Founder of The Institute of Modern Dog Trainers - The IMDT, and Author of Best Selling dog training books 'Easy Peasy Puppy Squeezy', 'Easy Peasy Doggy Squeezy', 'Easy Peasy Doggy Diary', and top selling children's book 'Easy Peasy AWESOME PAWSOME!' Some of his tips were very known to me, but there were things I learnt and helped, but alas I just happen to have a very difficult pup - well now an almost adult dog and he likes to push all my buttons no matter what I do, all of the advice in the book didn't work for my boisterous teenager but a lot did so it wasn't all a loss. I still have a long, long way to go with my rebellious teenage dog (and now his rebellious baby brother) but we will get there. I still read this book for my second pup and incredibly where the tips didn't work for dog one, they work for dog two. Weird, right?! selectedStore.City }}, {{ selectedStore.State }} {{ selectedStore.Country }} {{ selectedStore.Zip }} Whether you're living with a brand-new puppy, an adult dog or rescue dog, my methods will give you everything you need to know. Using simple, proven, science-based and ethical techniques, I'll show you how to have the best relationship with your pup, as well as teaching you how to Even if punishment works some of the time, is it worth it? If you end up with a dog that doesn’t trust you or a dog that doesn’t want to come near you? How can that ever be a good thing?

God only knows, I made mistakes, we all do (so please don’t punish yourself) But having a reference text that I could dog-ear, note on, and use time and time again? Would have been a life saver in raising my pup. Typically when you search ‘best book about X’ there are reams and reams of listicles that corroborate each other; usually leaving you with one or two front runners in the particular subject area you’re interested in. When I searched ‘best book for new dog owners’ and ‘best dog training book’ I couldn’t find a definitive winner. After scouring the web for a while I came across Easy Peasy Puppy Squeezy which purported to be ‘The UK’s No.1 Dog Training Book’, but it wasn’t this marketing slogan that sold it for me, it was the more endearing, ‘Your simple step-by-step guide to raising and training a happy puppy’. A happy puppy. Isn’t that what we all really want from a dog? It could also hit more on enrichment, desensitisation and socialization in a more in depth manner – but then would Easy Peasy Puppy Squeezy achieve it’s original goal of being a short compendium that’s easy to digest?

Other than the wealth of knowledge, I have to say one of my favourite things is the humour in Easy Peasy Puppy Squeezy. It’s easy to write a basic training book, but this genuinely had me laughing!
